Basic definition of Value engineering is your efforts directed at analyzing designed road features, systems, equipment, and material selections for the purpose of achieving desired functions at the lowest life cycle cost consistent with required performance, quality, reliability, safety and strategy. This program extends functions desired from roads to include alignment to your strategic objectives and to the strategic objectives of your customer/stakeholders. This program also extends Value to include Dollar Equivalents to the benefits that can be gained through moving towards your Strategic Objectives and those of your customers and stakeholders.
The outcome of this program is a participant groomed to recognize value opportunities on any Road or Road Network Design or Upgrade Project. Participant will take away extensive ideas on incorporating Value into Road Projects at various phases of the Project. When properly applied this program should help your organization create millions of dollars of value on your road projects, and improve the image and customer perception of your Projects and organization, all within a short period of time.
Everyone involved in the Road Design Projects at any stage of the project from Idea, Feasibility to Operation and Maintenance. Participants would be Designers, Coordinators, Managers, Project Managers, Consultants, Auditors and related Senior Management.
This Value Creation Oriented Program can be used to train Road and Road Network Teams so they can work together (and support each other) to implement the Program Recommended Value Engineering Analysis and Improvements in their Organization and its Processes. Participants will take away a Step by Step Value Engineering Implementation Plan for organization or Section.
